  • Leading With Strengths Workshop - A 3-day strengths-based deep dive into leadership practices through a coaching lens. This workshop is for any university-designated supervisors supervising at least 2 FTEs.
    • Strengths-Based Managers Community of Practice - once you have completed the Leading with Strengths workshop, you have the opportunity to join a community of managers and leaders campuswide using a strengths-based approach to learn together and share ideas and experiences.
  • Leading With Strengths Workshop for Supervisors of Student Employees - This workshop is the same as the standard Leading with Strengths workshop, but tailors group discussion specifically to experiences of supervisors of student employees who do not manage professional FTEs. It provides an opportunity for peers to explore the unique aspects of managing student staff.

Core Professional Development

  • 360 Assessment Coaching for Managers - this process begins with conducting a 360 feedback assessment of a manager and then reviewing results and goal setting/action planning via (6) one-hour individual coaching calls. The 360 assessment includes a self-assessment and collects feedback from the supervisor, peer colleagues and subordinates. (NOTE: the department will be required to purchase the $200 assessment at the start of this engagement).
  • HR Best Practices for Supervisors - (must supervise at least 2.0 FTE career staff) Learn critical HR information to hone your management approach while connecting with peers across the organization with the opportunity to ask the questions you've been wanting to learn answers to. Get to know the HR staff and build connections with colleagues that last beyond the program.
  • HR Best Practices for Supervisors of Student Employees - learn critical HR information to develop and refine your student employee supervisory skills. Get familiar with available campus resources and your HR staff so you know where to go and whom to call when you have questions or need help while building connections with peers across the organization.
  • Coach Approach to Supervision Workshop - learn the fundamental characteristics of coaching and how managers can use a coaching mindset to enhance their leadership.  Practice active listening and open-ended questioning.
